During the Rugby World Cup I was really interested in watching the games, particularly the finals and semi-finals. The All Blacks were my favorite team and I really wanted to watch as many of their games as I possibly could.
However, rugby is not a popular sport in the United States, and none of the games were playing on any television stations.
I had hoped to access the games off a New Zealand site, as I knew several that were hosting them live, where I could have watched them through a streaming broadcast.
However, it wasn’t to be, as I found out too late that there was no way of doing this using an IP address from the United States.
I missed seeing the games live because of this, and it was a disappointment to watch the World Cup final almost a week after the event when I already knew the outcome.
A way of solving my problem would have been to get a VPN . This would have let me watch the games that I wanted to see without any problems.
Furthermore, getting an IP address from New Zealand would have had another advantage. It would have let me stream the file effectively and I would not have to wait a long time for buffering.
Recommended VPN Service
IAPS Security Store
IAPS is the only place where you’re going to find a VPN server in this location. The site is a bit difficult to navigate, so follow these instructions:
PPTP/L2TP OpenVPN on the left panel and search for the country of your choice (There’s a lot, so Ctrl+F may be faster). Click the link, and choose a package for 1, 3, 6, or 12 months (discounts available). In most cases, PPTP will be sufficient, (PPTP not available for New Zealand servers) though users looking for better encryption may want OpenVPN. One issue with highly encrypted VPN servers is that it takes more bandwidth, and many times can’t be used on a phone. This is why many users choose PPTP. Plus, IAPS has tons of countries available for PPTP.
