Video: How to use a VPN to get a Greek IP
#1 Choice: Hide My Ass
Hide My Ass on the other hand is an extremely popular service, because instead of having to choose between IP addresses, you get FULL access to ALL servers with one complete VPN plan.
Plus, it’s only $6.55 per month (for 1 year of signup, otherwise it’s $11.52 per month). Greece is one of their newest server locations, and they offer PPTP, L2TP, and OpenVPN as well.
This is also a fantastic VPN service, especially for folks that are using their iPhone, Android, or other mobile device. VyprVPN has developed a great set of VPN apps for private browsing or watching Greek TV on the go. Packages also come with free online storage. encrypted text messaging, and they have a 3 day free trial!
Another great service sporting hundreds of servers and almost as many countries as HMA. The pricing structure is similar as well. Personally, I prefer the Hide My Ass app, but this is still a great alternative. Read the full review here.
Remember: PPTP is faster, OpenVPN is more secure.
Using a VPN to get an IP address from Greece allows the user to watch any movie or television program that is being streamed on local sites, even if these sites are regionally restricted.
If you try and do this without getting an IP address from Greece, then the process is much more difficult, and may be impossible. Many local streaming websites are only available to people actually in the country. You might be able to find some sites streaming in the US, but they are often the kind that have tons of pop ups and don’t work with an ad blocker!
Just like with the food, you have to be in the original place to get the best.
VPNs are interesting because they actually change the IP of your phone or computer. You can be anywhere in the world, on any device, and make it appear as if you are in a different locations. I used VPNs a lot when I was in China and wanted to watch Netflix, which only streamed in the US at the time. I soon found out the same thing works for Greece and Greek TV streaming.
There are lots of technical things that go into VPNs, but really, you just need to find a price point you like (usually about $10/month) and the country you need access to. It doesn’t have to be a Greek service to have access to Greek SERVERS. That’s the key. Below I’ve listed with 3 great VPN companies that you can get a Greek IP from (including other countries!).
